Briana Evigan (born October 23, 1986) is an American actress and dancer, best known for her leading role in Step Up 2: The Streets as Andie West. A professional dancer, Briana has appeared in music videos for Linkin Park, Flo Rida, T-Pain and Enrique Inglesias. She has also had small roles in television series and films such as Bottom's Up, Something Sweet and Fear Itself. In 2008 she won the breakout role of Andie West in the sequel to the 2006 Dance/Drama film Step Up in Step Up 2: The Streets. Filming took place in late 2007 in Baltimore and was released February 14, 2008. The film which met with negative reviews with Rotten Tomatoes receiving 24% achieved box office success earning a worldwide gross of $148,424,320. Both Briana and Co-Star Robert Hoffman earned the Best Kiss Award at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards. In 2009 she appeared in indie films Subject: I Love You and Burning Bright. [2] She appeared in the sequel to the cult film Donnie Darko, S. Darko. Starring alongside James Lafferty and Ed Westwick the film was directed by Chris Fisher. Origonally intended for a theatrical release the film was released Straight-to-DVD May 12, 2009 with negative reviews. It was announced in August 2008 Briana had signed on as the leading actress Cassidy in Summit Entertainment's remake of the 1983 low budget horror film The House on Sorority Row. Starring alongside Briana in Sorority Row is Audrina Patridge, Rumer Willis and Jamie Chung filming took place in October 2008 with full production announced finished in May 2009. The film was released September 11, 2009 to negative reviews. The film opened at the box office at #6 during its opening weekend bringing in a low $5,059,802. Announced a box office bomb the film earned a worldwide total of $14,866,649 earning $2,866,649 more than its $12,000,000 budget. On April 2, 2009, Briana received a 2009 ShoWest Award along with co-stars from Sorority Row for "Female Star of Tomorrow". It has been announced she has signed on for another remake of the 1980 Mother's Day alongside Jamie King and Alexa Vega. Filming took place throughout August to October 2009 and is set for release 9 May 2010.
